CANEX is 40 years-old and wants to celebrate with you!
|
“My Dad was working for the Department of National Defence, and I bought my first stereo at the CANEX in Rockliffe in the early 1970’s”, said Brian Tweedle, Director, Merchandising & Marketing with CANEX. That is only one example of how people have experienced CANEX in the past 40 years. How have YOU experienced CANEX? It’s already been 40 years since the Defense Council approved the creation of CANEX and the first stores opened. To celebrate four decades of Serving Those Who Serve, CANEX wants to invite its patrons to celebrate.

For this year long celebration, many activities will take place. One of these promotions, the 40th Retrospective Contest, will be launched during the Hot Summer Values national flyer running 11-22 June. This online contest is an occasion for you to share how you experienced CANEX. They want to know your story: Did you buy your first television at CANEX? Maybe it was where you got your first job? The best stories will be rewarded with great prizes such as a Microsoft XBox 360 or a Seanix Media Centre computer.

| CANEX’s 40th Anniversary will culminate with a Birthday Sale in September 2008. That’s when winners of the 40th Retrospective Contest will be announced as well as many other promotions planned for you! |

CANEX has always been about offering its customers what they need. According to Brian Tweedle, understanding its customers needs means being able to see emerging trends, implement changes in a timely manner, and upgrade services and offerings. For example, lasting partnerships, such as the one established with The Personal Insurance Company, have been built and tailored through the years to serve the CF community. These types of partnerships allowed the development of services tailored specifically to the military community.

CANEX’s dedication to serving the military community is also reflected in the creation of the Support Our Troops line of merchandise. This initiative has been a major success in rallying support for Canadian Forces members and their families throughout Canada. In the years to come, CANEX plans to maintain this winning formula by continuously striving to improve its services.

CANEX is using this dynamism to organize the celebration of its 40 years relationship with the military community and hopes you’ll take part in the fun!
